Working with positive and negative space to create forms that can work at all scales and work towards a few specific meanings. The symbols shown where generated from a pool of five adjectives I used to describe a turtle: cosmic, slow, strong, protection, and retract.
I began investigating different methodologies to find different solutions. Taking two symbols that read with their own one specific meanings, and mixing them together to make one symbol. The criteria for which I went about this process varied from a very loose strategy; like picking at random. To a very tight one, like choosing the most successful ones; either formally or the one that conveyed meaning best.
